Becoming
This collection emerges from a period of emotional disorientation and personal transition.
The forms are inspired by Janus - the Roman god of endings, beginnings, and transformation. Often depicted with two faces, one turned toward the past and the other toward the future, Janus became a central metaphor for the work.
The sculptures reflect this duality, yet the faces remain without eyes. Their blindness speaks to uncertainty - the inability to fully see what is ending or what is about to begin. The figures exist in an in-between state, suspended between memory and possibility.
Each piece is hand-built from stoneware clay and fired multiple times. The surfaces are layered, textured, and weathered, echoing an internal landscape shaped by vulnerability, change, and resilience. Though deeply personal, the collection invites viewers to reflect on their own moments of transition - the fragile space between who we once were and who we are becoming.
